All the ships entering the Port of Hualien must examined by Quarantine Inspection Office for the following:

1. Quarantine test: Ships with special reasons (for example: damaged ships), need special application to approach for testing.

2. Sanitation Test: Holders of sanitation certificates can opt for off board sanitation testing

3. Radio: Checking the information and documents via radio

4. Holding area: Check for quarantined items, passing ships are allowed into the port

5. Second port: Transfers from other ports in Taiwan can opt for off board testing.

6. Around island: Boats working in the Taiwan area that have applied for the process in the sanitation office can opt for off board testing.
